Re: Sales and Specials- good or not good?
I will be starting like in September, Tan until 2008 for X amount and a small co pay. Once I even did Tan until XXXX for X amount and get a FREE Bottle of Lotion (it is already the end of the season so anything that I would have put into a 50% off bin is what they got to choose from). Lots of money came rolling in on that special plus we got rid of lotion that would other wise be sitting here. And yes I know what everyone is thinking then they wont buy whats on your shelf, but if you look at it in a couple different ways, people that normally wont use lotion started because you gave them something, once using lotion it was like people wanted more, (accually my lotion sales went up in November because of this) The lotion that we did give, everyone knows only lasts so long and then they need more.

Re: Sales and Specials- good or not good?
we don't run any extraordinary specials during the summer months - those that are coming in now would come in anyways - so why cut my prices - it's like selling hot chocolate on the corner in july - if people don't want it - they won't buy it no matter how good of a deal it is -

Re: Sales and Specials- good or not good?
most people just dont tan in the off season, so i suggest to find out when your slow season starts and push large packages that expire when your busy.
the free or discounted stuff should run into your slow season. the majority of your spring tanners can easily be upgraded to say 3 months instead of 1 if you pitch it right and offer a special like buy 2 get 1 free. most wont even use the 3rd month. im running tan till 2008 for $99 in my level 1 beds. most people who buy this upgrade the whole time. we dont sell a huge amount of them but it def helps the daily cash flow
