Competition

I recently just found out that a salon is opening up not far from where my salon is. I truly believe competiton is healthy because it keeps you motivated. However, the company I bought my beds from sold the same beds to this new salon. I am extremely ****** off at this company and not sure if there is anything i can do about it. Are there any suggestions or input as to what my first step should be. I will admit i'm a little worried.

Any advice or conversation would be greatly appreciated!

JZ when we opened we ordered some beds 6 months before we opened. During that 6 months a neighboring salon ordered "1" bed from the same company all their other beds were old and a different manufacturer. When we opened they called screaming at the disty for selling to us (they didn't know we ordered long before them). Anyway this past season I guess they couldn't have been to mad because now the salon they own the closest to us put in 4 of the same beds as ours. Did I call the disty screaming? No Way....I don't even consider them competition that's why I call them a neighboring salon only. Put yourself above your neighboring salon and move ahead. :)

Unfortunatly, I don't think there is a bed disty out there that is going to sell to us exclusively. There out there to make money just like everyone else.

That's crap. If it's a "feature" piece of equipment there should be like a 5mile lock out.

Doesn't suprise me that these people pulled this stunt with you.

They have a different montly unlimited you have to pay a surcharge every visit....ours is one price. I think they are cheaper then us on 10 sessions but not certain. I've never called for prices but some people have mentioned them to me.

also it's not ergo and it was our level 3 equipment. we still have a combo hp and a full hp that they don't have.

then there is another salon that posts on here, they went and got our same level 2 equipment from this same manufacturer. lol that rep must love this city heh

Eileen,
how long have you been in business for? I am going on my 3rd year so i guess you could still consider me somewhat of a rookie (although i have learned alot). I have alot of ideas and have been brainstorming for the past year whether or not i should put my plans into action. I am almost finished paying for my equipment so part of me wants to ring in the xtra $$ and the other part of me wants to expand. Now the bottom line is I don't want to do this for the rest of my life. i love it and would miss it dearly but it has its moments. any advice?
