Re: elecrical upgrade question

its a bunch of old crap. his best 2 are a cyclone and sundome. rest is sunvision hex and 2 older suncapsule vhr. i plan on **** canning almost all of it at once. 9 machines total....i have some used(new looking) equipment i got lined up if all goes well, but you know the older units dont take much juice compared to the new......everything basically 60-70 amp(single p)

also going to bring my supersonic (current location) there and have a new x series installed to replace it

i got 2 nail ladys lined up already at $400 a month each rent is $1200

salon in question is 5 minutes from my house current salon is 30 minutes away

been in biz 12yrs same location same equipment basically LOL

Re: elecrical upgrade question

can we move this to a more private area? Like Industry Pros? I can make your salon work with NO electrical upgrades.

If the building already has 3 phase it'll still cost you about 5K to update it. Then you are looking at like $1000 each bed if they need to have new copper run to them.

It cost me $1500 just to run wire for one bed and the main board is directly under the bed. That's for a 4g wire.

i hear restaurants usually have 3 phase?!?!? yes no maybe

all the units have roof mounted ac units also.

the salon uses a 3 pole 60 amp breaker for the a/c......never seen 1 of them before. does that tell yous anything about the a/c size
???? If there is a 3 pole breaker in the panel to feed the a/c unit then you should have a 3 phase panel. you can't install a 3 pole breaker in a single phase panel.

if you have a 60 amp breaker on a 3 pole breaker it will be a 10 ton unit, but if it is on a 2 pole breaker it will be 5 ton unit.
Most all centers have 3 phase availbable, exspecially with restaurant equipment.

Re: elecrical upgrade question

yeah thats whats confusing me. its def a 3 pole 60 amp for ac. but the guy says he was told by electrician hes maxed out. i dont see how he could be maxed out with

1 sundome
1 cyclone
2 vhr suncaps (12min)
3 hex
2 sunvision 20 min with face
plus the roof mounted ac and some outlets and lights

i think electrician meant box was full cause it is.

whats 10 ton a/c worth
whats 3 phase 200 amp worth

Re: elecrical upgrade question

You are in the North East. You don't need 10tons of air.

7 BOOTHS????? GONE

2 BOOTHS. One 160watt, One 200+watt. like 11min and 8min or so. AT THE MOST.

Take the sunvisions home with you and use then to grow....er tomatoes. Yeah, that's it.

THEY SUCK.

Get 2 15min Ovations and one Big OVATION (or something like that) You are talking 80 amps for those 3. You want beds that are low draw but big on output. You already have delt with Heartland and you know you can dance on these things while they are on fire and they keep tanning.

The booths will need 100amps total. Again, Dazzler/2M DEMAND the money and run forever.

I'm thinking that the A/C is not on the same panel. How could it be?

You are talking THOUSANDS just for panel upgrades and that's before the cost for copper. A/C is like $1000/ton.

Get seperate 3/4ton a/c units as needed.

Re: elecrical upgrade question

Well that make a little more sense, they installed a 3 pole and only using 2 poles. Like engfant said, find a bed mix that you are going to use and go from there. Just my 2 cents, you are limiting your self with power and you don't want it were you can run all the beds and a/c at the same time with breakers tripping.
I would first find out what size A/C unit you have, then see if you can upgrade the service the cheapest way single 400 to 600 amps or 3 phase 400 amps or even add another 200 amp single phase panel with a separate meter. you have many choices, but you need to know what you want to do with your bed selection. by the way I prefer UWE equipment.
