Seriously I really do believe its all in how you market for your area. If your standup is special because the guest once they get color they only have to go once or twice a week to keep could be a market for a Special level in itself.

why would anyone want to use the other 5 beds or worse why upgrade to level 2 when the stronger level 1 bed is available.( Stronger than other level 1)

keep all level 1 beds with the same lamps

move the facial beds from level 2 into level 3

level 3 becomes level 4 or you could seperat them and have 5 levels. depending on use and cost

level 1 100
level 2 160
level 3 200
level 4 220

CTM I would agree with what you said about level one staying with the same beds, but, with us we are in a small market with much competition. We have some who think fast and a little pink is the way to go and some on the other hand belive us when we want to cook them slow. (hehe) We really don`t say that! That is why we have one with a higher UVB. Like I have said before........when we mention level 2 they start looking for the stairs.........This is what we are up against and have to compete with!!

Here's how I have my salons set up:

L1 - 100w/32 lamp no facials
L2 - 160w/44 lamp, 4 facials and 160w stand up
L3 - HP

3 distinct levels. Realistically that's all the levels there are. Manufacturers create 4-5 false levels to sell more beds. Don't forget the mist, that stuff tans great.

you are right derf. i forgot about the spray tan as a level or bonus.
and J-J-finally someone who understands what i am trying to say about the difference in the lamps of level 1!
would you change this or leave it alone?
