The Business Of Tanning
At first glance, the tanning business looks simple and many people are attracted to it because it appears to be an easy business tooperate. What could be easier? Answer the phone and set up an appointment. when they arrive, collect your money and point them to room #5. When they leave, clean the bed and wait for your next appointment. Well, for those of you who are currently in the business, are probably laughing at this. It's all the work that goes into creating the environment, getting the phone to ring, scheduling to maximize your beds, keeping your equipment operating, dealing with suppliers and the endless list of salesman that appear at your door, managing your cash flow, hiring, training employees, marketing and the hundreds of other tasks that all must be accomplished which makes this a more difficult business than one might first assume. Let's face it, running a tanning salon takes incredible time, energy and smarts. Those who think it's simple are either naive or a blood native of Superman

Very true Neon. Until they sit in the salon on a 100 degree day on a Sunday and 5 people have walked through the door and you have overhead of $20,000 a month, then they can say it's "easy"!
