Re: should you tear your rooms down when you leave a location

This guy had resturants would pour concrete down the sewer pipes and toliet and rip his electric panel out. The lanlords would then go after him he had so much money he really did not care I think he got more of a kick out of it more then anything. I think he was the least grown up but wealthiest at the sametime 50 year old I ever met. If someone is going to build a salon just compete with them.

Re: should you tear your rooms down when you leave a location

Why would you care unless you are going to put up another salon down the road. More work for yourself if you ask me.

We moved a salon years ago about 4 blocks and my uncle told me to tear everything down. Well I kept calling him back asking "do you want the shelves down?" he say yes. Then I called back again and asked "do you want to counter taken out?" and he said YES!!!. Then I called him one more time and asked "Do you want the mirrors taken down behind the counter?" HE SAID YES GOD DAMIT!!! I WANT EVERYTHING TAKEN DOWN!!!!"

Well it was my first week on the job about 13 years ago and he was a little ****** at me calling him and I was ****** at him getting ****** at me. So I went and got a sludge hammer and me and my guys totally destoyed this salon, wall, doors, ripped all the breakers out, took down ceiling fans and then ripped out the carpet.

Well he wanted everything he said and I wasn't going to call him back again. He received a large bill from the dump, and then a court order from his landlord getting sued for taking everything down.

That was a story of the company for years!!!

Re: should you tear your rooms down when you leave a location

Hi all. I am in sort of the same situation. But, I no longer have a lease, I am month to month now, so can I tear it all out? My husband dosen't want the landlord to have the benefit of our hard and expensive work, we don't care about future tenents. The building was TRASHED when we got it. No lights, holes in the carpets, celing tiles wet & falling down, etc.

I also learned my lesson, we are going with Eurowalls or Smart Walls this time.

Re: should you tear your rooms down when you leave a location

Even if your are month by month the old lease still stand as far as what you can do or not do. Just read it and if it doesn't say that whatever is attached to the dwelling belongs to the landlord you can tear it down but remember to check your last lease first.
