Re: I'm a newbie with questions

Well I do live in redneck country. I bet I could find a good ol boy to help. j/k I will just ignore them. When we're in the new building, with more beds, they will go under. It's too bad, I think our town is big enough for both of us. I was a Pharmacy Tech for 18 years, and we always helped other pharmacies and vice versa. I guess I wasn't ready for the child like behavior. But thats life. :(

Re: I'm a newbie with questions

Eurowalls is an excellent choice. Chris (sales mgr.) is very, very helpful.
As for your situation, what your clients say is more convincing than what your competitor says.
Personally, I would not go 800 hours between a bulb change, though.

Re: I'm a newbie with questions

Chido6d,

How often do you change your bulbs? I was told on a 1000 hr bulb to change at 800hr. My clients are still getting good color. I also change my face tanners every 400 hr. Is that standard? Thanks for the info.

Re: I'm a newbie with questions

The good news is their talking smack about you if they weren't then you'd be broke.....If your broke then they wouldn't utter a word......So you must be do something right......When a business bad mouths you trust me it only makes them look worse.....Then people will begin to wonder what they say about them......Besides it free advertising they are uttering your name out of their mouth as soon as a client gets mad or upset with their service they will jump over to you......I know its disheartening when your a decent person and wish others well abd success in business but you have to realize not everyone is like that....Once I called my competition to tell them about a crazy lady tanner.....Ohh boy was she something else fake injury after injury claimed she had 3rd degree burns and when I wouldn't let her tan with 3rd degree burns she threw herself on the floor....Bad mouth other salons when she came in.....She would come in drunk drunk drunk hit a poll in the parking lot etc...I had to call the cops so finally I got her to leave well she said I will just go tan at salon I saw open down the road.....I called to warn the owner and the owner said " I don't need advice on how to run my business or handle clients" I simple told her to warn her staff as she was a nightmare and I didn't want her salon going through what we went through

Re: I'm a newbie with questions

dmarie,
I change mine at no more than 600 hours (low pressure and facial).
I suspect that the manufacturers exaggerate bulb life, and I want my clients to get the best results possible.
At 700-800 hours, most bulb output is cut in half or less. I'm going to get a light meter and do some research of my own.
