Re: 3 phase electricity or single phase?
3 phase is better cause it's more electricity BANDWITH cause there are 3 HOT WIRES instead of 2.
More power with less draw on the setup. Downside, usually very expensive to UPGRADE to this.

Re: 3 phase electricity or single phase?
AMPS is the word. With three phase your system is much more balanced and you can install more beds using the same draw of amps. If you had 400 amps of 3 phase, you would have 1/3 more of usable amps then you would have with single phase. I hope I am correct in this explanation.

Re: 3 phase electricity or single phase?
you're partly correct, but the bottom line is you are charged by the amount of kilowatts consumed so single phase or 3 phase will still be pretty much the same monthly bill. The real difference is that 3 phase is far more "efficient" and can bring in more watts using smaller wires/panels.....nothing major

Re: 3 phase electricity or single phase?
Also, some equipment absolutely "require" 3 phase. (they won't work without it) but on the other hand if you have 3 phase but only require single phase you can still manage (just not the other way around)
so if you have the choice, you're better off with 3 phase for the simple reason that you will be "upgrade" ready....... |

Re: 3 phase electricity or single phase?
Not True at all. My electrician was here the other day doing an upgrade, and explained it all to me. In lamens terms, like I said before..... 3 Phase draws about 2/3 of the electricity that single phase does.
