NBC "The Today Show" Melanoma

Ok, Here are the points discussed.

1. 1 person dies every hour from melanoma.

2. Most reported type of cancer.

3. Tanning before the Age of 35, increases risk of skin cancer by 75%.

4. Getting a base tan from a tanning bed provides NO protection from the Sun.

5. Apply sunblock 15 or greater every two hours. Must block UVA & BVB.

Any thoughts on this! Other than it's tanning season!

I am beginning to think it's the producers and the back stage people that have their own personal agenda against tanning. I swear for every good piece of news we send to them, for some reason they put the "tanning is addictive" on the news instead of something new.

Re: NBC "The Today Show" Melanoma

Statistics are so misleading. Figure just within the United States, 4 people every 13 minutes die of breast cancer, 18 people die of lung cancer every hour,

U.S.'s infant mortality rate is the 2nd highest in a devloped country. And, yet melanoma is what the Today show is talking about.

Go figure.

Re: NBC "The Today Show" Melanoma

I just sent an email to a Fox anchor (that has tanned with us in the past) citing the coverup from derms etc....The spin I put in the email was that in light of all of the cancer press between Tony Snow and Elizabeth Edwards, there is no press about preventative medicine, just catch up after the diagnosis. I put links to ITA and Tanning Truth, we'll see if I get a response. She tanned with us for a while a few years ago.
