I haven't paid myself a salary yet since I have opened.... not until I pay off all my equipment and turn a profit... That is a very very high salary for her to start with ...

Yep, I agree. I don't pay myself either, and I won't until all loans are paid off. By that time, I'll probably have more loans, because I'll have to upgrade. Your sister in law isn't going to be able to afford to pay herself in the beginning. The joys of working your own business.

I'll be a long time until she's able to take any salary, let alone $4000 a month. Don't get me wrong; given the right location, a 7 unit salon can make money. One cannot expect to blow the doors off the competition to start with. Two established salons within a one mile area is cause for concern. Just be careful.

I'll manage that salon for $1000 per month. I haven't gotten a pay check in two years. I also worked 81 hours per week the first year and a half we were open. No staff, sick or not. Tell them to suck it up and work with out pay, and they will make it.

4000....r they in Beverly Hills.....you need to retail some of that $150.00 lotions and retail them well..... they do realize there are some slow months when the salon might not even make 4000 total..... You'll only be able to cover your bills.... The key is to SAVE SAVE SAVe during the busy season to offset the drop.....
