Re: does this salon investment sound good
This thread was interesting to read but the lack of proper education and poor fundamental thinking and common sense. Has really turned it into a sad case of a full moon on a Saturday night. You know what the say about the patients during a full moon? I hope you have proper funds for a few years at least.
What's a refurbished bed? Mr. W Posting on Mrs. W account.

Re: does this salon investment sound good
1. You (not anyone else) make your business look like a failure. You constantly talk about how poorly you are doing and how crappy things are. Go back and read your own posts. If that's all bs ( read back where I said I predict you do very well) than that is great. I wish you nothing but success. But don't get ****** off if we take you on your word and believe you are struggling.
2. Yes this is a sideline. I do very well in my primary business and the only way I ever anticipate making major money is by opening several salons. That being said I expect to be profitable from the beginning. 3. I'm neither a trust fund baby or living paycheck to paycheck. My father left this world when I was 11 without a penny to his name and I've worked my *** off to get where I am! I still work 70-80 hour weeks and will continue that until my kid's are on their own. By then, maybe I will own several salons or even better own the buildings they reside in but either way I've earned everything I have. I wish it were different! |

BRAND new, fresh outta the box, salons targeting a new market -- NO. They are LYING to you if that's what you hear.

Re: does this salon investment sound good
Well bully for you!
Yes this is a sideline? ....... nice. Then you have no idea whatsoever what those who have to live off their tanning biz have to endure. It's vacation money for ya huh? Nice! And if you think you had to work your *** off to get where you are now, wait til you have to use your "real" income to keep the salon open. You are a real piece of work, another dreamer who thinks they have it all worked out. Have you thought of running pop bottles from New York to Michigan in a Mail truck yet? Too funny. I wish you luck, really, but you are, whoever you are, a bit to arrogant for my taste. And I hope that, while you are dominating with your hobby salon, you aren't starving too many real salon owners................ |

Re: does this salon investment sound good
New Owner -- Speaking of being 'tuned' in -- Did you invest in building out your salon or was it preexisting? That speaks volumes about Gross capital Investment. Did you have a landlord building to suit? Purchased quality used or new equipment? salon software, pos terminals and etc, etc, etc -- the list goes on and on and on -- are your doors open? how much has your capital investment been up to this point? If it's under 75k I'm going to have say preexisting salon -- you might see something sooner than later on that 75 -- you say under 75 (new) and I'm gonna have to call you out as a fabulist.
Buildout. Was a hair salon. Gutted it and started over. Total investment: $110,00. That includes two used beds and 5 new. Used: 2003 Suncapsule Cyclone 200W 1000 hrs $5500. 2003 Matrix with new acrylics, bulbs, cover, etc. $16,000. Beautiful bed from Sunsally. Three new Sportarredo Holidays, 1 KBL 3500, 1 Sportarredo Blue Moon. Built and wired 10 total rooms for expansion. Remaining rooms roughed in with AWG6 to handle up to level 3. Existing was 400 amp three phase. Rough in was $6600. Expecting additional $2000-$2500 before it is finished. Existing was 3 tons HVAC great condition. Added new 5 ton for $11,880. Carpet $3100 (I know carpet not ideal but best option for me right now). Drop ceiling $2400. Rent $21,000 a year. What else would you like to know? |
