Work to kill it. Get involved in the process.

I'm working on killing 4 anti-tanning salon bills in MD.

Good news for you is it requires a 2/3 majority vote to pass. I have to deal with a simple majority vote.

Personally -- I don't agree with the keysers assumption that this is as ugly as it gets -- if this is all the legislators have up their sleeves, then this industry should feel lucky.

My state rep is a customer...he said he refuses to put anything into affect regarding tanning and minors since a minor can get an abortion without parental consent!

Yeah, those are similar to our regs as well. I think it could be much uglier, be happy they are at least putting some regulations into play. The state regulates us here, and here I mean our salon *snicker* side joke, we always say we are a "regulated salon" rather than regulated state, because other salons in town and other surroundign cities get away with stuff that they shouldnt' be.
