We have a franchisee of another chain closing in 2 weeks (he's also been trying to sell for a few years)

My lotion sales are better than they have ever been.

My tanning sales are up over last year, and up over 2005, over 2004, over 2003....etc

Just lucky I guess?

PS - I have about 15 salons within a 5 mile radius of mine.

There are always exceptions for whatever reason, but from the general tone of things, all IS NOT well.

Your competitor, that's who.

Let's say you're grossing 150-200K & clearing 20% with a 14-16 bed salon... if your competitor thinks it's a strong enough market, they will come in and put in a 20-24 unit salon, double the gross sales to 400K to clear 80K. That's just the way a chain/franchise is going to look at it.

So if you're not willing to do this yourself, they will. It's just business.
