Not really. I just started going to a hairdresser 8 yrs ago because we barter. I've been cutting my husbands hair for over 15 yrs and I never took any class in it.

My area has chain of franchised and corp owned salons with "deep pockets" closing stores left and right.

We have a franchisee of another chain closing in 2 weeks (he's also been trying to sell for a few years)

My lotion sales are better than they have ever been.

My tanning sales are up over last year, and up over 2005, over 2004, over 2003....etc

Just lucky I guess?

PS - I have about 15 salons within a 5 mile radius of mine.
