Purchasing a second salon

Does anyone operate a second salon close by, how does that work for clients. I am thinking about taking over an existing salon about a mile away from my original location, clients will be able to tan at both salons as the computer will be set up in a way that their info can be viewed at either place. What are your thoughts on this? second business is not taking in a whole lot of money so there is room to build up clientelle, am i mad to consider a place so close even though it wipes out one of my competitors!!!!

Dang if I didn't try to do it, then the tanners started coming in. Totally forgot after that. grrrrrr

Is that place also called Lemmes something? Tried to find more info online.

Hey When I asked this very question....I got very sweetly told "do you want to headaches?"
"need 2 slow seasons?" harsh but think it over and for my own thought brit girl why are they slow is it that you possible already take the most of the business? is there enough to split between 2 locations? Perhaps theirs a reason its slow and not just that they didn't run it right most owners try try try....research it first.....better to be someones elses problem and your competitor then your problem! Good luck look at figures and perhaps it will be alittle gold mine.......

A mile seems really close. Double the bills, doesn't mean double the income.

We have two salons in the same town, it was a good idea and a bad idea imo. I'd rather have one big salon, rather than two smaller ones, but thats just how it worked out with us.
