Question Electrical Problems

I need help with my electrical. Every time I have more than 4 beds on at a time my breaker trips. I have to find the manager (which sometimes takes hours) so that he can unlock the utility closet and re-set the breaker. All of this, obviously, while customers are here. I have had a couple of electricians look at it and they suggest that I install another electrical meter and panel. There is no more space for another electrical meter. I already have 2. There are salons with 20 beds in strip malls, there has to be a way to get the power I need without installing more meters. Buck boosters? Transformers? I am so lost! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Electrical Problems

Is it a panel with your breakers on it? Like where you can flip the power on/off? I have 2 breaker panels in my salon, and the main breakers out in a utility closet...

Re: Electrical Problems

You need a lot more information. For example:

1. You have two panels currently - how many amps each?

2. Is it just tripping the one panel?

3. Is it always the same 4 beds doing it?

4. Do you have 3 phase or single phase?

5. Have any of the electricians checked the main breaker to see if it s weak?

6. Do you have the proper wire size with the right sized amps?

7. What beds do you have - what size breakers are they on?

8. How much A/C and "other" stuff is wired into the panel(s) that are tripping?

Re: Electrical Problems

the breaker is 200.. but I have a huge transformer that adds another 400. Is that too much for a 8 bed salon?
