Some people just like to gripe. Some people just want to have someone to listen to them.

Mean, ugly lady comes into my Dad`s appliance store. (35 years ago) Dad had went out of his way many times before to help the lady. She talked to him like you wouldn`t talk to a dog. He just agrees and tries his best to make everything right. (she want have any of it) I had to walk out back to keep from telling her what I thought!!

After she left I told Dad I would not have let her talk to me like that. Son, you always do all you can to make sure you are in the right and let them have there way. When they leave you want them to know you have done all can.

Six months later the lady builds a new house; buy everything in her house from him. When we got back from delivering the appliances to her, dad looked at me and ask.........you remember the *** chewing I took from that lady? (yes sir) Well I just made $1,265.00 and I will cry all the way to the bank.

Made my Dad lot of money using this business practice!!!! It has worked for me in all my business dealings. I have found most of the time it hurt them more because I will not get mad and fight with them.

PS Sometimes I do figure it is worth a couple hundred just to tell them off!

With you on that one Jen, being 21 I get it all the time, its funny when they are yelling at me and so on, and then they ask me who the owner is so they can talk to him....I just laugh, people love complaining, its a hobby.

I tell my staff to kill clients like that with kindness ha! it has a positive effect most times because we did't return the bad attitude to them. I had two clients that everytime they came in my staff would run because of their difficult nature so i talked to them (the clients that is) one continues to come in and is as nice as pie and the other one thankfully we have not seen him since, i say thankfully because he was a BIG guy with a terrible temper and everybody was afraid he might go balistic on us as he was always in an angry mood.

My favourite clients are the ones who get angry because you don't give them a special when they ask for it and threaten to go somewhere else to tan and then they return a couple of weeks later like nothing has happened. (The previous owner would give her clients a 10-10 special when ever they requested it, BAD IDEA!!!!!!).

When I first opened I had a woman who constantly raised **** and had my girls ready to quit every time she came in. One day she was in doing her thing - not knowing I was in the back. I went to the front desk and told her I didn't want or need her business any longer - even gave her a refund. She now tans at one of my other stores under her maiden name - never gets out of line any more.

Ok. I get the same thing. My customers love me and treat me very good. For some reason (oh, I know the reason) they aren't that sociable with my employees. Guys, it's like this...do we always see how our employees treat the customers? NOPE. I know for a fact that my girls are NOTORIOUS for telling them what room to go to before they have walked in 5 feet! It ****** me off to no end and I chew their asses for it everytime. I don't blame my customers for being assholes to my employees....I'm just lucky they are still customers!

Do you not pay a commission brooke? Because if my girls don't sell a certain amount, they don't work. And if the clients can't even get up to the counter, how are they going to sell?
