Hi All - I think I am about ready to set up and start airbrushing, however I am curious as to how much solution I am supposed to use per client. I have read about everything there is to read and am not sure what amount of solution is sufficient. I have the Norvell System, Smart Jet. I have the regular solution, the dark solution and the cocoa solution as well as bronzing drops. What is the best to use for the different skin types? I figured the regular for 1-2 and cocoa solutions for skin types border 3 and 3 and the dark for 4 and above. When should I add the bronzing drops? To skin types 3 and up?? Just curious what people have found works best for them and how much solution to use per client.
Thanks for the help!:) |

Re: How much Solution do I use??
use the search function in the sunless forum. is it HVLP or an airbrush? If its made for sunless tanning it should come with some type of instructions

Re: How much Solution do I use??
Hi everyone. I used to work at a salon where we were constantly airbrushing people by hand. I used to use a couple ounces of solution per client. I used to fill up the gun a couple oftimes for someone who was really dark, usually a III or IV skin type.

Re: How much Solution do I use??
1 1/2 -2 oz with a HVLP/LVLP turbine system. If you are using more than that, call whoever you got your system from and have them help you. Typically an airbrush uses 2-4 oz and a booth uses 4-6 oz. This information is best to my knowledge. I only deal with one of these types so the other numbers are ones I have been told by people who use that type of system. Hope this helps.
You have to carefull about overspraying people that is why some spray on tans come off looking like leopards. You would get a better result by using a higher DHA or spraying them one day waiting a day and spraying them again. Hope this helps. Jennifer |
