Whenever I go to a friend or relative's house, the first thing I do is go and open the blinds or shades. Let the sun shine in!!!!!Then I give them the low-down on vitamin D and how they are deficient in it and they really should get more UV rays. I counsel them on all the benefits of vitamin D, first, then they don't say anything. Also, alot of times the first question I ask if I haven't seen them in awhile is, "how much vitamin D are you getting?" or, "did you get your dose of vitamin D today?" Negative comments haven't been an issue for me. Probably will be now, though!!LOL

I was walking in to the salon one day and some teenage kids drove by yelling, "Tanning causes cancer!" So I shot them.
Nooooo, seriously, I wanted to but I just walked on in and it was business as usual. Idiots.

When ignorant people make comments
I just simply ask how much do you really know about tanning and refer them to websites like The Truth About Tanning or Indoor Tanning Facts and Indoor Tanning Association Now that our website is up and running I will just refer them to that and suggest they look at the FAQ page and the links on the bottom

So I suppose bartenders sell liver disease?? And Restuarant owners sell obesity??
and the city who takes care of the beaches sell skin cancers they don't moniter how burnt we get and my beach charges 75 cents a person?? GIVE ME A BREAk....when they tell me I am to tan I tell them your to white.....When they tell it its going to kill me I tell them at least I will be a pretty corpse......I tried the education route but have learned that you can win over the critics who ask questions but not the jackasses who simply make remarks....I just make smart comments with a SMILE:)~ Just give them an awesume bottle of lotion and a brochere on the good of tanning in a gift bag and let that speak for itself.... |
