Tanning more than once a day!

I let my employees tan for free.

I have resently had an employee quit and since have found out that she had been more than once a day! I can't believe she was that stupid, she figured out how to tan and then delete her tan for that day and retan.

Has anyone else had this problem? I realize that it is water under the bridge now but I would like to make sure some else doesn't do that.

What program are you using? On mine, you cannot void a tan that has already been used. Also, do you have a way of checking all the voided sales each day? If so, you may want to start checking those on a regular basis.

id be more concerned with the FACT that she could have done this to steal $$$$$$$.....she obviously not that stupid.

as far as it happening again figure out how she did it and make changes.

i use helios and can run reports on voids.

I use Sunease and all you have to do is go into a certain screen and back out the date and it won't show up that you tanned so it really isn't a void. I didn't know they knew that but I guess they can figure out anything.

I thought about the fact that she could have been stealing money as well but I pretty much know what lotions and stuff I have so it would have to be either letting people tan for free or packages or something?

Florida says once in a 24 hour period.

We also have to keep a daily journal or log in a regular appointment book makes our County Inspector happy!

This also helps the tech on the next shift without even going to the computer with just a glance at the appt book page.

As far as stealing.. ummm looks like that was a good possability as well.

I just let 3 of mine go on the same day... They got clickish and figure too much out together. But still couldn't do any chores or gosh forbid clean a bed after the client leaves instead of waiting for the next to arrive and then wait for the bed.

I know I really don't like to have to train new employees though.

We are a really small salon and I only have a few employees there so it's hard when someone leaves or is let go.

It takes awhile to get the new one up to speed and then I always feel weird about what they might be doing when I'm not there.

I really would have never thought she would have been doing that, I was actually shocked when I found that out.

Paradise, we run with SunEase too. You better get into your preferences and change some things. You can most certainly restrict tanning more than once a day. You better go in a do other restrictions so your employees can not modify your packages and such. Did you have them count out their drawer at the end of the shift? You could have easily double checked that to your sales summaries and other employees close out shift sheets to see if she was stealing. As far as inventory goes. I am not impressed with SunEase's methods and sometimes ours miscounts. I always keep a hard copy of what I have. You better do some more investigating it seems. Good Luck!

I have clients that tan 5 times a day. They use a package in three days. woo hoo.

Carribean, Sunease does restrict you from putting in a client more than once a day, however, they have figured out that if you go into modify and change the last tan date after you have tanned back to the day before it will act as if you never tanned. It will also let you delete the name in the log if you let it.

We also have a few names in there that aren't real customers that we use every once in awhile to let people tan if something goes wrong with their time for some reason or another because I didn't know they knew they could reset the date to change the bed.

Neon, I thought it was a law that you could only tan once a day? Why would anyone want to tan 5 time in one day? Wouldn't they be fried?
