Re: eye protection
Just curious? I'm an RN and I only use hospital grade sanitation products that I get from the facility, but if your state requires you not to have the availabilty to sanitize and reuse, how do you control that the customer at least has them available or has purchased in the past? Did you require them to present them when they enter the salon? I'm wonder because our liability insurance requires us to provide them, because we all know that we can't force them to use them even though we educate them and tell them the harm, but at least they are in the room and ready to use if they are a smart tanner? Which hopeful will help the liability end? :) Just food for thought?

Re: eye protection
Bravotan- Thank you, I plan on having everything on hand and I thought I would also try to sell eye protection too. I am not a nurse but I was planning on having the hospital grade bed acrylic cleaners too.

Re: eye protection
eyepro.net has a lot of useful information and they send out free kits so that you can show your customers that using eyewear is crucial, it also explains why you should not share them, try to sell them...you make more money!

Re: eye protection
I have each tanner sign in when they come in. The sign in sheet covers eyewear requirements. Plus they sign a waiver.when they sign up. Thats all my insurance Co. needs. I was planning on providing eyewear when I first opened but the Board of Health said No. The state allows the local officials to set their own standards. When you explain to customers why sharing eyewear may not be a good idea, they don't mind buying their own eyewear. Some customer say they would never share eyewear. Not all salons are professional run and clean their eyewear properly. I guess every area is different.
