I use one that plugs into a cigaret lighter, just put a 12v battery in the back.

how bout using a toy water pistol? seems a whole lot cheaper than buying of dem air compressor things. Toys-R-US has great selection of toys.

Re: building my own

What size is the room that most of you have for spray tanning, Do you have seperate area for spraying and dressing. Does the room need to be totally enclosed (meaning new spare tanning room. If you want to move them from spray room to a stand up for quick drying do and they wear a robe will it mess up the tan??? Do you talk walk ins or appointments only? Thanks

'size-5'x '5' bathroom. separate rooms for dressing-no, enclosed -depend on what systen you use airbrusy absolutley HVLP not necessary. we take anything we can get. LOL

Re: building my own

I would not use a "compressor" you will not get a good application and those ones pictured will produce too much PSI and hurt your client. A smaller compressor may not work with a "gun". I would not mess around with different types of "paint sprayers" if you do not know what you are doing.

Go for an HVLP specifically designed for spray tanning. Do a search under HVLP tanning on google. Some are more quiet than others. Some are paint sprayers in disguise. And some are designed for spray tanning. Be sure to get "true hvlp" or you will be getting just another "compressor"
