Re: New Business seeking advice

I am a cosmetologist in Los Angeles and I only work 3 days a week. We offer spray tans at work but I am thinking about going Mobile. Does anyone know the things I need before starting this business such as Ins, Business Lic, bond?

Red face Re: New Business seeking advice

I would absolutely add a UV free tanning booth, for several reasons. I have managed an upscale salon for almost two years, and realize that spray tanning is becoming more & more popular. We have the Mystic Tan booth, (Do NOT hire someone to apply the tans, cleints will make & BREAK appointments and you will be paying an employee to be there for nothing!) it is easy to maintain and clean plus it brings in great revenue! The best thing about the Mystic tan booth is that you wont have to pay more employees! The other issue is, people are growing wary of tanning and it's health effects, so having UV free tanning will offer another great option to your clients! My salon also offers "Mystic cocktails" for a great boost in color, (tan first, then spray) which A LOT of my clients do! So we are able to charge them for both sessions (more revenue, plus they see more results!) The better your clients results, the happier they are, and the more money they will spend! Something to think about... good luck!

Re: New Business seeking advice

I am setting up a massage therapist at this time for my salon. It is taking me awhile to get things arranged.

I decided to do a massage therapist individual contractor because I hate the taxes for employees. Am trying to diversify and have a different clientele reached. Then my salon will be the topic of discussion among perhaps people that have not heard of the salon. Word of mouth is the BEST advertising.

Anyhow I have a room not being used. Already have a spray tan technician and the SunFX system. This is by appoinments only.
