The POINT: It's an opportunity for the general public and/or tanning salon owners (the people whose livelihood depends on exposing teens and adults to UVR) to express a Positive opinion on tanning and tanning beds that will have an impact on main stream media. How do you think ABC would play this story out on the nightly news if the numbers were totally skewed in a negative way toward tanning?

The ADA, FDA , AMA and other organizations want the general public to make FEAR BASED, illogical, unproven decisions regarding our right (as adults and parents) to tan. WE, as tanning salon owners or tanners should make every effort to "Enlighten" the General Public, Mainstream Media and Joe Tanner to the positives associated with this industry.

Personally, I think this was a super important vote--whether it is marketed as a scientific poll or just personal opinion--it's important--especially for this industry and my bank account.

Yes, although there should be warning signs that explain the dangers of tanning.

We have made a difference on how this is going to be played out in main stream media (thank you voters!) because (just like grass roots politics and what the right wing, christian coalition know better than anyone today) VOTING makes a difference in opinion, how things ARE done And just WHO is getting those things done.

Well if they come out and do another story on the turn out of the vote, then maybe I see the point. But really, do you think any brainwashed reporter is going to do that story?? I just think it's going to get ignored and burried and it isn't going to make a difference. (Yes, I'm bitter about the media)

Don't be Bitter--or ****, be bitter if you want--but what you should do is *VOTE*--not just in stupid little polls like this but everywhere, every opportunity you get--change the way people think--don't reinforce the negative or advocate a do nothing attitude because what's the f***ing point.

what im saying ... many of hte articles on this issue with my county (the psat 5 of them) doesnt tell the entire story.. it makes it seem like we dont want or care if parnets consent or not and thats what we are trying to fight or have been saying... its how they want the consent.. and hte fact that were i am located will push clients (teens and parents ) to NJ which is 2 blocks from me... because they can go under 16 with consent....
