I personally like to overload myself and work 8 to 5 M-F and then work my salon from 6-11 M-F and Sat and Sun 10-6. It makes me feel well rounded :) Sleep is barely necessary when you really think about it...just wasted time.

All jokes aside, I think most of us do both. At least with my experience they do. I'm in marketing and my business partner is an Aerospace Engineer. We're the Odd Couple...but it really is a good match. We each have our strengths and compliment each other nicely.

I say take the job and keep the salon, you can hire people to work it, perhaps family or someone that you have trust in. You will be able to have a dual income (most of us wish for that) and be abor to upgrade salon faster, buy new equip more readily etc....

Thats what I love about this bored people don't just tell you blah they tell you real advice :) I was thinking I could put a grand of my own income aside for the salon a month...The salon gets a facelift....LOL I could work the salon three nights a week and set it up with someone else the rest of the time....Really I wouldn't be work anymore hours then I do now....Thanks ladies and Gentlemen:)

Jen sounds like you've made your decision. Good luck. Remember you are very young, now is the time to try different things and see where life takes you. I agree with Vegeman, if in a couple months its just not right, you still have your salon and you can quit. Plus with the slower season coming on it gives you a chance to get everything ironed out before the next busy season starts, by then you will hopefully have everything fine tuned and running perfectly. Good luck, you will make the rigth choice, just examine what you truly want in life.
