ok our hrs are mon thru sat 8:ooam till 8:00pm sun 12-8 weekend are totally dead during the week little better in morning to day only 4 people till 2:00 pm do i open at 2till 8 mon thru fri,sat 9-8 ,sun 12 till 5. its all still so new so thats why im asking its a hard call !!!

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you are only seeing 15 people a day now, then maybe you better shut down and not bother opening back up. Can you live on that?
You aren't making the rent and utilities right now and it is going to get worse. |

Welcome to the industry.... there were days when I first opened that i had 1-2 tanners a day. whoopie. Now we have grown etc, but we used to tan over 200 a day and now its down to 50-75 on a good day. Its just the business. Gotta go with it and once you're established and what not it'll get better. Just save save save that money, run soem specials to get some money in there.

PC really good point, because let me tell you if I knew a salon in my town was closing, I'd run a special JUST for that salons clients, Like a tan till 07 for a extremely low price just to get them in the door, and then have them when the season hits.
It is a business and as a business I'd take full advatage of trying to get my comps clients... that is the honest truth, and low down as it maybe, I opened a business to make money, and if I see a chance to make money and get more clients I am gonna do it... sorry but anyone would do the same. |

Why not do monday - thursday 9 to 7 and fridays 10 to 5 saturdays 10 to 3 closed on sunday. Cutting your hours way back would be better then closing.
alot of salons have summer hours, just to cut back on cost and because it is slower. |

Good idea, cut your hours and if worse comes to worse close on teh weekends or have minimal hours on them. My one store is closing on weekends for the month of July but the other store will stay open. Do that first before closing.

comps hrs are at the hair salon 10- 6mon thru fri sat 10-2 closed sun. movie place 7day a week 10-10. i dont want to shut down but their gotta be more to it.

I'd meet the hair salons hours, but not close for a month. Then in season or when things start to pick up extend your hours. Work it when you can, even if it means having the baby there with you, hire a few girls, but don't close.
