Love the comp.

The salon across the street is up to that old trick, bad talk the comp. Well in this case it back fired in their face. 4 coworkers were all tanning there, and one asked about the salon across the street(us). The owner started bad talking us, everything from the salon beeing old to it beeing nasty. I guess one of the 4 wanted to see how bad it was. So she came in and purchased a walk in and on the way out she told my wife how the comp. is bad talking us. We make it a point and stress it to anyone that works for us not to bad talk the comp. So the cllient went back and told that owner that the place is spotless and she stressed that we do not attack out comp. Now here is the short story----- all 4 came over and 2 others that work with them, all in one day. Come to find out they were never educated in anything, eye pro., lotions, nothing. I LOVE THE COMP.

People that bad mouth others, only make themselves look unprofessional and bad and it usually comes back to haunt them in the end.

Here's one for you......There is a large chain tanning salon (don't wanna mention any names) down the street from me
Anyway, yesterday apparently their computers went down and they had to start telling customers it would be at least an hour to Mystic......so all the sudden I start getting a whole lot of New Mystic customers coming in and they told me this AND that the employees there told them that they could not get a Mystic at my shop either b/c all MYstc Booths go thru one central computer and mine would be down as welland they should wait there!!!!

Needless to say people started wondering and coming over to my store....I gained ALOT of new customers, sold alot of packages and alot of them were so impressed with how clean and nice my place is and actually said no one had ever told them how to do the spray and they always have streaks, but of course I showed everyone the proper way..........Thanks for lying to your customers, it helped me alot!!!

We never trash the competition. It's very unprofessional. If you have a good salon, you don't need to bad talk other salons.

I made it a policy with my employees not to speak badly about the competition. I have been getting a lot of their customers lately and they always come in and downgrade them...I just listen and change the subject.

Until reading this thread I haven't relaized how much I talk about the bigger chains. I'll say stuff like my beds will rival anyone else's.

Nothing wrong with bragging about how good your own equiptment is.........just as long as to not trash mouth theirs (even if theirs is junk).

I don't really consider that the same as badmouthing or downgrading the competition. You have every right to brag on your own!
