Grand Opening Ideas

Hi!

I just recently opened a tanning salon (last Saturday) and will be having a Grand Opening in a couple of weeks. Any great ideas for specials and promotions? Also, what seems to be the best advertising methods (in your opinion)??? Help a newbie out!!!

Radio adds work well. If you have high schoolers that you could give fliers to to give to their classmates. Sometimes we give them business cards and for every so many they turn in we will give them a free visit. We have them write their name on the back so we know who they came from. On the card we will run some type of special so they will want to bring it back.

If you contact Designer Skin with your flier and advertise them on the flier, they will send you a promo box full of goodies (lotions, T-shirts).

I didn't know about this. So if you send DS a copy of your advertisement, they'll send you some promo items? Is there more to it than that?

Hi Tiki,

From what I know, yes. We just went to a tanning expo in January and that is what the DS rep told all of us. They need about 2-3 weeks notice, want to see our flier and we need to advertise their lotions (on sale or just in general?) and they mentioned having their logo or bottle on the flier. Since we just found out and are planning our event in March, we haven't yet done it. The photo they showed of the goodies you get looked awesome! A few people in the audience commented on how great there promo box was when they were talking about it. I think they said you can do this twice a year?? Maybe it was only once a year.

I have done it several times... Call Tracy , he handles that but they need a good 3 weeks to get it to you...

So all you do is just make a flier that contains DS pictures, etc. and they will give you the promo items for advertising using their products. That's cool.
