My boyfriend and I just went through all of that! I would do your business plan first! Make sure you have all the numbers--we went to a CPA to help us out with the projections, estimated start-up cost, and all that good stuff. Make sure you do lots of research!! We bought a generic business plan online and then changed all the numbers and all the info. to apply to our business. Before you sign a lease, you should def. have a lawyer read it first. The business plan is a lot of work but it feels great to have it done and turn it into the bank/real estate agent!! |

Re: Welcome Newbies
Hello, I am new to tantalk. I am very interested in opening a tanning salon. No, I do not have any experience in this field other than being a Tanning customer. I was going to buy and existing Tanning business and the deal fell through. Now I am thinking about opening a Tanning Business. I have a friend that knows the owner of this new building that just opened up. It would be a great location for my business. I am meeting with the building owner tomorrow to go over some of my ideas. Do you have any advise for me or questions I should ask up front?

Re: Welcome Newbies
Hey all!
I have been in the tanning business forover three years now and I am in the planning stages of starting up my own tanning salon. Are there any suggestions as to what types of beds are the best price? Products as well? Thanks.

Re: Welcome Newbies
My advice is not for which beds or which lotions. Those aren't nearly as important as cash. You are 19? Don't go in debt. Keep working and save your money. Rough times are ahead. Unless you can pay cash for at least half or more, don't do it. I would be terrified to open a salon today and finance 80% or more.
