Its not that I dislike kids, but I would never consider leaving my 4 yr old out in the lobby while I tan. How do the rest of you handle these situations. I had a girl bring her 3 kids in 3,4,6 (ages) and expected me to watch them... now I know this is where I went wrong, it was slow and shes a single mom so I did. Now I think she expects it. So I posted a sign said no kids to be left unattended in the lobby. She asked what was up with that did someone bring in an unruly kid. I said no I am getting into the busy season and I can't take care of new clients, wash beds, answer phones, and watch kids. I even added the rule into my client release. I think she knew this sign was aimed toward her. So how do the rest of you deal with this? (your probably smart and didn't do it to begin with.

Re: Kids
You got it Clubby. I just tell them as nice as possible, that our insurance policy doesn't allow us to watch over children. We have done the same thing here. You're nice one time, and next thing you know, you are the daycare/tanning salon! We even had a woman once, who ran a daycare, come in with all six kids thinking I was gonna watch them while she tanned! **** NO! I love kids, but give me a break.

Re: Kids
I love the ones who not only want you to watch their kids but they want to tan in a 30 min bed!! not a 15 or 20 or even upgrade to the a turbo ten.. a whole 30 mins!!!Geeze I mean If I'd wanted one I'd have one and then I'd bring them up to where ever they work and have them watch my baby for 30 mins well I run arrands!!! Why do people think because we try to make a very pleasant fun atmosphere we have nothing to do...it takes alot of work to keep these places spic-n- span... Have you ever had customers try and bring their kids into the room with them???? Or how about the ones who sit in the lobby with a crying baby????
I love kids to but If I wanted to work with them I'd have looked in opening a chuckie cheese.... |

Re: Kids
I have had women leave there kids and now we have a sign that any children under the age of 6 must be supervised. The kids that are 6 and older normally sit still for the 20 minutes. I don't think any children should have to sit without a parent or someone they know in a public place. Think of it this way, would you have your child sit at the cashier of a grocery store? My youngest is 4, she was at the salon with me for a full hour the other night and in that time, she told a customer that she had no teeth, told another one that he looked like a duck. I was mortified. The salon is not a place for kids period.

Re: Kids
Yeah we have a sign up. If they aren't hold enough to watch themselves, then we aren't responsible. I had a lady try to leave her baby in the car one time. And another get mad because her 10 year old wondered outside. Now thats not my problem I was busy and didn't know where she went. I told the mom that too. Annoying
