It jsut amazes me. I don't think I would even be comfortable doing that. I would be in the bed the whole time worrying

I love the women who bring their children to the salon and try to ask if their child can sit in the room with them while they tan. WHAT?? This one lady asked and I said no because the child will not be wearing eyewear and it will harm his eyes. The mom thanked me so much for telling her, she didn't even think about that. And she was mad at the big chain who let her child go in with her all the time.

I had someone who wanted to bring their dog in the room, haven't delt with the kid in the room, but now that I am limiting them I am sure I will

I have had 2 people in the past few years want to take their dogs in too! Both cases they had them in crates & they were puppies & were too young to be in the car .. NOT. I even had a girl bring her bird ... some kind of a parrot or something & wanted me to watch it because she just picked him up from the vet & she didn't want to put him in his cage!!! Animals I have never done & will never do - kids are a little touchy sometimes.

Once you start it - you will have a major problem. We have very few who bring kids & it's not so bad in the busy season, but I just confronted a mom last night because her 5 year old wouldn't sit down - This is the time of the year that beds start getting cut off - I explain to their parents that I cannot be responsible & if they wonder straight out the front door, they are in parking lot traffic.

Like I said, we are pretty fortunate that there aren't many, but even a few is annoying as ****!! Most people come here to get away from their own kids for a short time - Not come in to listen to someone else's kids.

I LOVE kids - don't get me wrong, but a tanning salon is NOT a place for kids.

Wow Deb. That almost leads me to another to post another thread "what is the strangest thing a clients has done, asked you to do, or has asked you to watch" a bird! That is too funny. I thought the dog guy was bad.

My old salon had this one couple that were in their 30's and were regulars, came EVERY night. They had 3 kids, 2 boys and a girl, all around the ages of 5-7. OMG... when i would be tanning, i could hear them scream and run down the halls and when i come out, they are running around the lobby and all 5 of the employees are trying to shut them up... And the wife would just go into the room with the husband, not to tan, but to just go in there with him. I saw the manager say something to the wife one time, and I never saw them at that salon again... Guess they didnt like the baby sitting service that they THOUGHT came WITH the tanning package, lol.

I have had some horrible experiences with kids sitting in the lobby.. They make a lot of noise , run up and down the hallway... etc.... One even threatened me.. at 5 yrs old.. I told him thats it ... You will be put outside for the cops to pick up if you do not sit in the chair and sit still and do not say a word all i ahve to do it pick up the phone is and its bye bye... I actaully wanted to hit this kid.. I hate tosay that but OMG... I like kids but you got to be kidding me... Meanwhile the mother comes out telling me I am so afraid my kids are going to get kidnapped... blah blah blah.. But yet she leaves them alone in a salon ... um ok!
