What part of Flordia...

Ok so if you are in Florida I'd like to know what part and what you like best about it?

I am thinking of moving to Florida, not to open a salon, but work part time and go out on my boat the rest of the time

But I have NO IDEA what part I'd like to move to! So I thought I'd ask all you pro's from down there!

I am SO use to Hurricans, I grew up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, you know that little barrier Island that sticks out the fartherest and gets SWAMPED by Hurricanes every year. Well except for this past year we only got one, Florida handled the rest for us.

Thats what I am thinking too. But I just can't pick a place, i am thinking either Lake mary area, South Florida or the west coast, but Tampa scares me, when I lived in orlando all those riots where going on in Tampa, and it was voted in the Top 10 Most Dangerous places to live, then again so was Wilmington, we where #8!!

I lived in West Palm Beach for over 40 years. It's gotten really crowded and most of the people from Miami have migrated north to the Palm Beaches. I moved to Tampa and lived there for almost 5 years. I loved it! Tampa is wonderful with so much to do and only a short distance to any beach. My kids are still in West Palm and swear they will never leave. They love it there. I much prefer the west coast over the east coast. Seems the water is much cleaner and clearer and you can't beat the beautiful sunsets over the Gulf. In fact, we moved to Tennessee just over four years ago and wll be heading back to Florida within the next year and ahalf. We really miss it.
I grew up in hurricanes in West Palm and they really don't bother me....yes it's sad that they were devastated last year but it's a part of life. There's always going to be something wherever you go. Here it's tornados, west coast is earthquakes....I am a firm believer that if you prepare for whatever then what is meant to be will be.
Just my opinion...:)

I agree laney and at least with Hurricanes you have time to prepare! And as long as you do prepare you will be fine. I just cannot pick a place!

I am liking Bradenton it is south of Tampa, looks nice and like a good place for boarding. Now if I can narrow down to one place on the East coast and go visit I might be able to choose!

Port St. Lucie/Jensen Beach area is pretty nice and if you golf you have the PGA village in Port St. Lucie. Lived there for about 2 1/2 yrs. About an hr north of West Palm.
