HIGH EFFECIENCY LAUNDRY SOAP?

I'M SORRY IF THIS IS A STUPID QUESTION BUT I WAS TOLD TO ONLY USE HIGH EFFECIENCY LAUNDRY SOAP WHEN DOING OUR TOWELS. IS THERE A REASON FOR IT? I KNOW NOT TO USE ANY FABRIC SOFTENER FOR OBVIOUS REASONS BUT I DON'T QUITE UNDERSTAND THE HIGH EFFECIENCY SOAP.

Maybe ask the person who told you what the reason is and then, post that answer. Good question though.

My wife and I just purchased a front loading washing machine (and matching dryer). The salesman at Lowes recommended it because it produces less foam when the cloths are being washed. That's all I know about it.

I just use tide and color bleach, is that wrong?

front loading washers HAVE to use the "He" soap or it'll start to stink up the place cause it's for machines with low water. Only on washing machines that insist on it though.

Wait......don't use fabric softener? Why not? I use the unscented kind. And we use Gain for laundry soap.

We also just bought a front load washer & he said to use either the HE type or only use 1/3 of regular .. didn't even price or look for HE type - I like the only use 1/3 of regular.

Not sure of the reasoning for that though.
