If you have been wondering why you have not received email from tanTALK when you felt like you should have read on.
AOL and Verizon both tend to drop emails coming from our server. There are many articles describing both companies attemps to block spam. If you have a Verizon or AOL account and you have received email from tanTALK please reply. I'm curious if any of these people are getting email. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=21095 http://www.aota.net/forums/showthrea...&threadid=8771 http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.js...=1133899888449 http://www.dmsiusa.com/aol.htm http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...6645~mode=flat |

Re: AOL and Verizon tanTALK users
i have aol and i get my mail.....if AOL blocks tantalk mail it should end up in the spam folder then u just go in and click this is not spam button and all tantalk emails should be allowed
now i did just get a password reset email that i asked for friday and its tuesday however all my PM messages come thru fine now! i think its a combination of both the new server and aol

Re: AOL and Verizon tanTALK users
Michael,
A 450 error from AOL and Verizon is commonly caused by your server name not properly being returned from a reverse DNS lookup. You need to verify a couple things on the server that sends your email: 1) make sure your outbound SMTP server is configured with the domain name you are trying to send mail from: "tantalk.com", "server.tantalk.com" (or whatever your server name is) 2) when you do a reverse dns lookup verify that the IP address assigned to your server returns the name the server is trying to send mail from. In all honesty this is a LAME attempt by some mail providers to cut down on spam, it DOESN'T work, and is a waste of everyones time. I don't know if you run your own outbound mail server, but if you use someone else just pass them the error, they should be able to take care of it. If you run it yourself and need some help, just let me know. Id be more than happy to help you get it configured and sending to all domains. Rob. |
