I am a relatively new tanner, and I just had a quick question about the color of my hair. In the winter time my hair is a medium red, but in the summer, my hair turns to a light and bright blonde with some light red highlights. (not doing anything different to my hair in the summer) So I was wondering, will the tanning bed do the same to my hair, and keep the bright blond, or will it fade back to red? THANKS!

I've been a hair stylist for 22 years and the uv rays will for sure lighten your hair, if you want to keep it darker just use a cap. Of coarse tanning in a bed in the winter should keep you the lighter of the two.

My hair always stays "highlighted" blonde from the tanning bed and tends to get darker when I don't tan BUT the tanner also seems to really dry out my hair!

if you dont want to lose your color or keep hair from drying out...purchase a tannie cap ...from your local tanning salon.

I have a client that puts her color on, comes down and tans in the stand up. She swears it helps the color to be better. Go figure.

I have naturally strawberry blonde, and when I am tanning quite a bit my blonde tends to get brassy. I have to use the shimmering lights (purple shampoo) to keep the blonde blonde.
