I want to decorate my salon with all the nice things that I like. I know it is not reasonable to assume people are going to treat my things how I would, so... what do you think about having any leather footstools in the rooms, and upholsted chairs in the lobby? Am I truly stuck with furniture that can only be cleaned with lysol? What do you have that has stood the test of time?

we have a leather couch, some tables, and nice chairs set up in our lobby...and in the rooms we have benches painted brick red w/ a plant on it...wow, doesn't sound nice...but we get many compliments & has held up extremely well.

I also have a leather sofa and leather ottomans in the lobby with an all glass coffeetable and aluminum and glass side tables in the lobby and bathroom. In the rooms I have aluminum and black leather chairs (very slick) they hold up well to commercial traffic.
I began the salon with Philippe Starck Clear "louis ghost" chairs (google them, they are awesome!) in the rooms, but they proved to be too fragile for commercial use, now they are in my dining room. |

Really nice leather sofas or fabric chairs in lobby I would recommend.
I have had bad luck w/ nice seating in each room - between disgusting people not caring and lotion stains. I got great classly looking chairs from ikea (very inexpensive) for the rooms and have recieved many compliments on them. |

Well, I figured, "since I was at it already", might as well divert this thread too! You want to have unoffensive, easy to clean, long lasting, cheap azz furniture in the joint. I like to shop at the local DAV for my lobby furnishings, and go to the Salvation Army (great write-off) for all the cutsie cwap I put in the rooms. Good luck. BTW, it's not the LPPA that really matters, it's the BL.

We have expensive wing back chairs in our lobby. Who sitting anyway? They are suppose to be tanning. Love the chairs and love my people. Bring someone into my store to visit and we will sell you something. den-den, Miami Bronz
