I fear that this forum may not be geared towards individuals, but perhaps someone can move this to the proper area.

I have been tanning for 2 weeks now and I'm seeing results everywhere except for my shoulders and upper chest. This is extremely perplexing and I can't figure out why this would happen.

I am applying tanning accelerator vigourously and it's not helping. The rest of my body is reacting normally, but this area is being stubborn.

Is there anything I can do?

Are you using a bed with shoulder tanners and high pressure facials??

Yes, it has lamps at the head and also special face lamps. The problem occurs not only on the top of my shoulders but the front as well. My tan seems to stop right above my pecs.

I had one thought, but it may be silly. When I first noticed the problem, I began placing alot more accelerator on the areas, is it possible that it's too thick? Should I be rubbing it into the skin instead of just applying it to the surface?

Thanks for your help.

maybe you should try a bed without shoulder and facial lamps, some people tan better without them.

They have stand-up booths, perhaps that would be a viable option?

Yes, rub it in more. As long as you have enough on your skin, that is all you need. You don't need to cake it on. Try a different bed with high pressure facials. See if that makes a difference.

Check your moisturizer and anything you apply to those areas of your body. A lot of store bought moisturizers have SPF and bleaching agents in them.
