so we are trying to get our helios up and running well we ran into a little problem....whenever we wanna check someone out helios freezes up and the cash drawer doesnt open...called helios and they said the only printer that will work with helios and open the drawer at the same time is some type of star printer...well we have a epson...first off i was just wondering if anyone can link me to a website where i can get the drivers for the m129c model...and second off is there anyway to bypass this "star" printer where we can have our epson printer work with the drawer and open up? thanks!

Try this and see if you can call a support person there to get you back online.

Are you talking about a regular printer or a receipt printer? The star printer is a receipt printer and the model that I have is sp200. If you are trying to run a regular printer "inline" between the computer and the cash drawer, that may be the problem.
I'm not 100% on that but that could be the problem. Try going from the computer directly to the drawer and change the settings in Helios to match that.

Thanks Nav... (I don't know Helios) but I figured the Epson site could help him out with the drivers...

P.S. Are you following me?

I think you can just use the the "generic" printer setup in windows. The Star printers Helios is referring to has a place on the back of the printer to plug the cash drawer into. When helios sends a signal to the printer to print a reciept then the cash drawer open at the same time.

Yeah you can bypass the print a receipt thingy in Helios. You can set it too "always, or ask" in the settings.

i think if you bypass the printer then the drawer will not open.
