Many tanners use an indoor tanning product with a cooling effect in a HP tanning bed/booth to reduce the "physical" heat of those tanning sessions.
I am darker skined but I personally do switch back and forth between Low Pressure and High Pressure Tanning equipment. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: Soakinuptherays on 2005-07-12 11:49 ] |

Whether you need to use a low pressure bed really depends on why you are tanning. If you are tanning for cosmetic purposes only and plan to wear sunscreen outdoors, you can tan almost exclusively in HP beds with little problems (some very fair skinned people have better results that way since the HP beds are extremely low UVB). However, if you are tanning to help prevent sunburn before a vacation (for example), you would want to use low pressure beds to help build your resistance to UVB. The employees at your tanning salon should be able to help you with times and such.

Since you are fair skinned I would use a lotion with a light bronzer in it. My favorite bronzer is Power Tan's Earth. It works great and smells good!!
If you want a "cool" bronzer I would also go with Power Tan's Ice Age. I have used many lotions and never got the color with them like I did with these two lotions. Its brand new this year so its hard to get your hands on.But I think you can buy it online, and from certain distributors. |

I didn't mod it, but I would have. This forum is primarily owners of salons, so messages encouraging diversion (buying grey-market lotion on-line) will get modded 99 times out of a 100.
If you use sunscreen outside, and only tan HP, you'll see a drop in tanning performance after awhile. You've got to get the UVB from somewhere, to get the melanin production in your skin. I'd say the amount of low pressure you mix in should be dependent upon how much normal sun you get. I can't really give you a set mix, such as 1 lo for every 3 hp. |
