I am opening my Salon in September, and I was wondering the benefits of salon software. I live in a small town and the other salon is still using the paper card method. I am comfortable using a computer, so that is not my issue. I just wonder isn't it easier to just hand write a reciept for the retail purchases? Does everyone have a register, or just a cash drawer?I am opening with 8 beds and a mystic booth. Do I need all my bed info online? So many decisions, so little time!!:) Thanx!

Computerize - don't even think twice about it! Gathering information about the trends of the salon is so important and without the computer pos you will never be able to market to your client base in the best way possible.

Ditto what Movieking said. Computerizing is all about employee theft. You will get ripped using cards unless you are the ONLY one working the store.

Is there a ~free~ tanning POS/computer system that I can use? I am going to use a computerized system for my salon. And does that system also time the bed exposure for clients??
