i think it would depend on the situation. I know some parents allow their younger children to tan, so they don't burn on the beach. But what ever happened to the good old days when parents actually used sun block on their kids??? Anyway, I don't advice young children to tan, my children won't. We require signatures for children ages 14-16.

We're also in a fairly small town. What we did (and still do) is a referral program...if someone refers and client, and that someone purchases a package from us, we give the referring party $5 in bonus bucks. They are kept in their name in the computer, and can build it up with each paying referral. They can use the bonus bucks anytime they want towards another package, lotion, retail. We had one girl send in 6 friends just so she could get the bonus bucks and get the lotion that she wanted. Once word of mouth gets around you'll do great, but like Beach_Bum said, give them something to remember you by, such as exceptional customer service. We found that if people are getting something for free (they all love that word) they will spread the word. Good luck!
