Sunvalley dont worry about the electric bill worry about what your going to be doing for the slower season. I opened in July which was a tough slow season, did not have that busy season the accumulate a database. Still we survived and this year has been amazing. We run our AC all day long and do probably 10 to 15 loads of laundry a day. Use your brain power in finding ways to bring new clients in and maintain the current clients you gain, this way as long as money is flowing in, you will be able to meet your bills. Best of luck to you, you will do fine.

We are in a high rent district here.... What is your rent going for where you are? Mine is 2140 Sqft for $5400 per month. Sounds high, but if you factor the electricity included and the rent I get from my massage therapists and Formostar tech, it equates to like $2500 per month.
Not too bad for a large new parcel in an indoor mall setting with underground valet parking and the Metro train in the building as well as the VRE (regional train) stop right outside the main doors. 9 Hotels and now more than 20 Apt complexes and new restaurants in a street scape setting outside my doors. In the beginning it sucked, but now it is all coming together. |

I agree with the electric bill being low on the "things to worry about" list. And if it's high, it's because you're busy and that's good. We took over an existing salon in March and had to pay an unexpected deposit (to the electric company) of almost $700. That was discouraging at first, but in the end I have found that I think more about how to bring in more tanners than anything else. Good luck to you!

If you have an open account with the electric company you can piggyback on that account and not pay a deposit....call tom. get it "switched" to your name and get your deposit back...I did that when we were smaller, and it was worth it..they do not care if its res. or bussiness....just a "save money" tip.

Most level one beds (32 lamp 100-120 watt) beds are less than a dollar to run. Level three beds (16 500 watt facials + another 40 160watt lamps) require closer to $2.50-$3.00 to run if that!
You shouldn't have to worry about electricity as much as how are you going to pay your rent come december.... The answer to that is...... E F T |
