Here's where everyone is confused. 4 MED is time to BURN not TAN. NOW, 100watt lamps USUALLY have higher UVB cause they are less intense and they are just working up to the 4MED, which says NOTHING about the actual ability to tan.
NOW, if you have a 160watt lamp, the output is gunna go up (UVA & UVB) so the MED will be REAL QUICK unless the UVB is dropped and the UVA is upped (UVA DOES NOT AFFECT MED AT ALL (I don't think at least)) SO you can have 2 lamps with a MAD (4MED = 1MAD Max Allowable Doseage) of 10minutes. One reads 10 on the 5.0meter and one reads 40 on the 5.0 meter but STILL are considered 10min lamps. Guess which one is gunna tan, and which one is a TOASTER LAMP! |
