Yes - that is wright. Ring worm people shouldnt tan. Maybe they can pee on it. Maybe thats what is really going on. Its not that they cant wait to get to the bath room. They are doing us a favor by using the trash can. I can see the thinking now. Hey - im here - im naked - ringworm is itching - i think ill pee on it - better do it over the trash can. The peerers and the ringworm people should not tan - but be together somewhere together. Help me help you.

Dogs and animals are a very likely carrier as well. My fiance and I went to Vegas last year, and we both developed ring worm. We had it in spots that made contact with the sheets. You can get it from towels, linens, if they are not cleaned properly. I went to the doctor to get the cream and she had told me that it is very likely to get ring worm from linenes and sheets. She had also suggested we have our dogs checked to verify that we did not get it from them and if they were left untreated we would just continueally spread it back and forth. They were not the culprits.

That is so weird, the same week I had the customer tell me my beds gave her ringworm a trashcan was discovered half full of pee !! This must be a scientific link, we have discovered a ringworm spreading, bladder loosening virus !!!

And to think I bought into the tanning business thinking it was a glamorous lifestyle........

I know. There should be warning labels in all of the "store for sale" ads. But that might scare off too many people who know how to do this business right and [i]really[/] make it work.

I find this comment somewhat strange. Forty years ago I got ringworm from swimming in a nearby lake. The ring grew and bled every time I swam in the high school pool with all that chlorine. The doctor gave me two or three UV lamp treatments and some cream to get rid of the pesty ringworm. The UV light was a standard treatment back in the 1960's. Further, the lamp in the doctor's office was barely 250 watts compared to the 3000 - 4000 watts found in even a weak tanning bed.

I find it strange what doctors did forty years ago compared to today, Pat Ferrin Paradise Tanning Salo, Circle Pines, MN.

Please note I am not recommending not to sanitize tanning tanning beds carefully.
Hey I have heard about you.

I am living proof and so is the scar on my upper right thigh that ringworm CAN be transmitted through tanning bed use. A girl I worked with at the salon I worked at before opening my own, came to work one day with a nasty looking "thing" on her leg. When asked what it was, she proceeded to tell me it was ringworm. I did go to school for nursing and I hoped and prayed that her favorite bed to tan in was not the same one that I liked, and had been tanning in too. Sure enough, 2 days later, guess what appeared on my leg? I didn't go to the doctor, I just went to the pharmacist and asked if he could identify it before I spent over a hundred dollars for the doctor to tell me it was what I thought it was.

RINGWORM! What a coincedence that 2 days earlier I'd noticed it on someone else who used the same tanning bed as I. It was not until I opened up my own salon that I learned that instead of 2 CAPS full of disinfectant per gallon of water it was 2 OUNCES of disinfectant per gallon of water. The bottle with the Lucosol in it had been refilled so many times that the print had bled off the bottle. The owner was always complaining even then that we were using too much of it. We just didn't know any better. Just to keep things under control, I wore loose fitting clothes so as to hide the ringworm from customers, nor did I tan for almost a month. That very next week, 7 of our clients came in at different times with what appeared to be the same thing I was told was ringworm. Now tell me I didn't get the ringworm from the tanning bed. Oh, and by the way, I learned BEFORE I opened my own salon, how to mix the solution properly.
