I go every other day I started out at 5 minutes then to 7 and moved up to 8 its a stand up booth and today was my second day at 8. the other day i went tanning and noticed i had the little red itchy bumps on me they were only on my stomach though and went away no problems. today i went again and they are all over my back, upper arms and stomach! I'm itchy and irritated i tan for 4 months every year and never had this problem! i tried a different lotion and all i dont understand it! im on the birth control patch so maybe that has something to do with it? i dont know has this ever happened to anyone? what did you do? or what advice would you give?

Go to SmartTan.com and look for a table of photosensitive medications. Your BirthControl may be listed. There are a few things that could be happening, such as heat retention. Sounds like you're not using tingle, but look at whatever lotions are doing it and look for words such as, "Hot Action" "Tingle", etc.

I've tanned quite a bit and sometimes this happens to me.
Sounds like an allergic reaction to the beds. Sound funny, I know, But it's true. Get a really strong antihistimine and take them. Benedryl would be a good choice. Be careful, it'll make you sleepy. The reaction will go away and you won't have it anymore. Allergic reactions start up at anytime. So, just because you didn't have a reaction last time, doesn't mean you won't this time. Good Luck |

Update... as soon as I got a shower the bumps went away.... i was fine all night long today i went tanning and when i put the lotion on i was itching all over they didnt appear again but i hurried home to get a shower and i've been fine.... i think i need to discontinue use of this lotion(even though they started with a different lotion)and maybe spend less time in there. Thanks for the replies (to those of you who were nice)
BTW it was always stand up ... i've never had a problem at tantopia where i usually go maybe it was the heat! I used a lotion from Emerald Bay and one from California tan called toasted honey(its a gel) neither were tingle. Thanks again |
