thyank you all for your advice, to stick up for myself i wanted to say that i do know a little bit, i now proper timing for some skin types but i want to make sure i know alot more than i do. I have honest concern for the customers safety and i will be smart tan certified but the rep just cant come until a few weeks after i open. I know the basic rules but i want to be knowledgable when a customer asks me a question, i just dont want to sound like a fumbling idiot.

BC, I would get your hands on as much info about the lotions you will be stocking as possible. That way you know what each one has to offer so if a new tanner comes in and asks for a lotion for sensitive skin, no tingle, but with a good bronzer, etc, etc, you can direct them to the proper lotion. And it will especially come in handy with the seasoned tanners who know what lotions they like...if you're fumbling around guessing what might be close to what they've used before, they'll be able to tell.

And Engfant, I guess by your definition, I am a "jerk" then, since the salon I run has 50 beds in it. But I can still sleep at night knowing you think those with bigger facilities are jerks...won't bother me any.

Lol DW....he can playa hate all he wants...the more energy he puts into hating the competition, the less he'll have to put back into his own work....and then he can blame the bigger salons for causing the downfall of business later....

And that's not just engfant...that's anyone who puts more energy into blaming others for problems around them (not just business problems, but any problems in general)....

I refuse to get negative about any setbacks put before me....case in point (for those of you that have read my other posts)...all 50 beds were down from 12pm-11pm on Thurs due to a short in a t-max timer....we still signed up 16 new members and sold over 2000k....that's because I refused to get down about the problem, and would not let my staff get that way either. We told people about the problem, told them their next upgrade would be on the house, and everyone but one person understood and left with a smile.

Wow, maybe I need to "short" out my timer. I can't do that kind of coin with all my units running. Good for you though.
