Oooohhhhh - Palm Beach Tan ---- Scary!!!

As you say - they are failing in many markets. They've done better with this concept than many "chains", but tanning ain't video and they are fraying around the edges a little as a result. Always easier to build something in your backyard and be the BMOC than it is to try to extend your reach too far and too fast. Little fish in a big pond as they say. PBT is a spit in the ocean in the 'big pond' of tanning salons world-wide.

Mystic works. Plain and simple. Isn't the only one, but it is one of the good ones. Much as that may pee some people off. Same as some people get peeed off over people that buy expensive beds, fancy walls etc. Is it legit or is it jealousy? Maybe some of both. To each their own - you don't have to do it yourself, but no need to knock someone else if it makes sense for their BUSINESS MODEL.

GOOD salons will survive Palm Beach Tan, Planet Tan, Hollywood Tan, Tan Co, and all the other "chains", big and small, national and local.

The PRACTICES of those salons - pricing, advertising, branding, and more --- are something to learn from. Not necessarily to copy step-for-step, but not necessarily to flee from like a vampire and daylight.

Somthing to think about ?????

As you can see, Palm Beach is too expensive for most people to start-up. We are in direct competition with them but they do attract a differant type of client then alot of the smaller more intimate salons.

I think there are better booths out there, but just the name "Mystic" gets them in the door..great advertising on Mystics part I guess.

SunSally - who are you pointing your fingers at? Me? Jealous? HAHAHA. How can I be jealous of a plastic booth? You are a pro-Mystic person, so I would expect you to use terms, like jealousy to explain why there are better booths out there.

DWhite - It is obious you haven't paid attention to the "Sunless" comments. There are better booths out there, you just have to look. Yes...The name "Mystic" is out there because they have spend millions of $ in advertising. If you, or anyone, want to believe that there booth is the best because of advertising, then become one of the many. If you want real quality, look........It is out there.
