I am new here, and yes I did search some but didn't see what i needed. I have seen some tanning salons where the top tanning bed is about 500 watts, which will run you about 20 dollars for 15 mins. Then I have seen places that claim 22,000 watts for around the same price! Can this be possible, or are there other aspects of tannign bed power?

I think this is what some salons do. I think they take the wattage of the lamps - multiply by the number of lamps to get a large number that soumds impressive. y x a = wattage. That is your lesson today. I have a high pressure standup it 16 HP 800w lamps and 1 800 watt facial lamp. That is over 14,000 watts - sounds more impressive that "we have an 800 watt HP unit". Although I would not call it 14,000 watts I can see where a less impressive salon would.
