Hello everyone, I am new to this group and I have a question - I have looked in the older posts and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. My salon has a bed and a booth. The bed goes for the normal 20 min. And the booth goes for 10 min. What is the difference between the 2? I normally go into the bed, thinking that since it's 20 minutes that means more color, but I can't seem to find any iformation on the net confirming that one way or the other. So, I was wondering with all of the knowledge about tanning on this site - surely someone could tell me. Thank you in advance for any help given!

what kind of bed, what kind of booth, what are the lamsps in either? This information would help to determine the difference you are or will be getting from the two. Some folks like stand up for the reason of not lying on acrylic and less tan lines.

Generally, the lamps in standups are giving out a higher amount of UV rays than a "typical" bed and usually have more of them. The "typical" bed may only have 28 to 32 lamps and are often not reflector lamps. So, the standup will give you a higher UV exposure and the session time is therefore shorter. You also have the advantage of blending in or avoiding pressure points associated with bed tanning.
