saras55~read the thread "every newbie should read this..." a ton of info about what to look for when your starting. Could be a little updated, but overall a good place to start.
I'm not from Texas, but I'd imagine you'd need your local city business license around $50.00, State Salon license maybe $100.00 and I don't think you'd need certification but I'm not sure, as I said, about Texas. |

In Texas you just need Tax certificate which is free I think (get at the local Comptrollers office) and a Texas Health certificate. The health certificate costs $200 a year. You can get an application online at the Texas Health Department web site. Fill it out with a check and mail it in. You'll get your cert in the mail in a few weeks. Nothing else is needed besides some beds and a whole lot of cash.
